With everything we know about sugar and cancer, Alzheimers and accelerated skin aging, I just can’t get myself to start the day with an unhealthy coffee chain frap drink. I’m always looking for alternatives, and I am happy to report that I have perfected the “NotBucks” Healthy Salted Caramel-ccino! The blend of dates and sea salt creates a delicious caramel flavor This recipe is raw, paleo friendly and gluten free, and easily adapted to be vegan. A delicious and nourishing way to start the day that won’t suppress your immune system!

Step one: Brew

2 oz of organic espresso
or
3 oz Very strongly brewed roasted dandelion root tea

Step two: Milk

two cups Fresh raw milk
or 2 cups favorite homemade nut or alt mylk

Step 3: “Caramel”

4 hawali dates, pittedraw caramel
or
3 large Medjool dates, pitted
2 tsp sea salt
and
1/4 tsp vanilla extract
or 1/2 scraped vanilla bean

Step 3: Protein

1 raw pastured egg
and/or
two scoops collagen protein powder
or two scoops grass fed whey protein
or two scoops hemp or vegan protein powder

Step 4: Blend

Add all ingredients to a blender with a handful ice and blend!
Top with raw unsweetened whipped cream or whipped coconut cream.
