Vis Medicatrix Naturae. It translates to the healing power of nature. It is at the core of healing; trusting the natural design and wisdom of our human development and mother nature. As an intelligent society made up of thinkers, artisans and scientists, humanity has tried to shape nature, bend it to the will of man (or woman). From rewriting genetics to replacing social interaction with emijos, society has deviated from nature, no longer trusting it, no longer trust ourselves, our own biology. The body’s innate ability to heal is masked. Symptoms, caused by the environment we made, are squashed by pharmaceuticals, without ever looking at the core of the problem or person.

Nature has its place in medicine, both in preventing disease and healing from them. The principles of naturopathic medicine are unique and sets it apart from any other system of medicine in that they honor the role of nature in our daily lives.

Publisher, patient and advocate of naturopathic medicine, Razi Berry shares her personal account of healing in a candid interview titled The Healing Power of Nature, featured online Friday, March 18, 2016, at The Natural Medicine Summit.
