Matcha Chai Recipe
- 4 cups of your sweet, local, raw milk or alternative milk
- 1 tbsp. organic matcha
- 1 vanilla bean
- 1 star anise pod
- 3 black peppercorns
- 2 cloves
- 3 green cardamom pods
- 1 cinnamon stick or 2 cinnamon leaves
Pour milk into a glass or non-reactive saucepan. Turn heat to low. Add spices and gently let them infuse as the milk warms.
Add the matcha to a teacup with a tbsp. of warm water. Mix or whisk until smooth. Add to milk and spice mixture. Whisk thoroughly.
You may add a tsp of raw honey or some stevia leaves if you want extra sweetness. The sweet fresh milk didn’t need anything else, the aroma of the spices and vanilla was just enough.
