(NaturalPath) According to the Cornell Food and Brand Lab, there are lessons to be learned from those individuals who stay thin effortlessly. Through what they call the Global Healthy Weight Registry, the researchers surveyed adults who have successfully maintained a healthy body weight throughout their lives. The survey included questions about diet, exercise and daily routines.
The researchers split the 112 participants into those who did and did not maintain strict diets. The techniques that those that weren’t on a diet employed included: eating high-quality foods, cooking at home, and listening to inner cues in order to stay slim. Additionally, they didn’t feel as guilty as the other group about overeating and were more likely to have an enjoyment-based, internally informed approach to food and eating.
