Hippocrates states, “All disease begins in the gut.” From the common cold to cancer, the idea is that disease can and will prosper in an unbalanced environment. Every time we make a choice to eat something, that something becomes the fuel for cellular regeneration and replication. Food is the root of health and can either
support a strong, vibrant immune systemor feed disease itself.

The understanding of the relationship between gut health, or gut immunity, and the health of the rest of the body and it’s systems is another lens through which we can begin to understand how gut immunity can protect us from cancer.

At the heart of this conversation and research is Dr. Natasha Campbell-McBride. Dr. Natasha is a medical doctor with postgraduate degrees in both Neurology and Human Nutrition. She is also the parent of a child who was once diagnosed with autism. Prior to starting her family, she worked for years as a neurosurgeon. When her first-born son was diagnosed with autism at the age of three, she delved into the medical research. She was astounded that her own profession could offer no answers and even less hope for a child with autism. Dr. Natasha devoted herself to finding an answer for her son, which led to her postgraduate degree in human nutrition. As a result of her work, her son fully recovered. But Dr. Campbell’s research on the root causes of autism didn’t end with her son’s healing. Through her research and clinical work with thousands of patients, she has brought forth a new understanding of the relationship between food, immunity and illness. Her groundbreaking work is known as Gut and Psychology Syndrome, or GAPS, a condition that establishes a connection between the functions of the digestive system and the brain.

Dr. Natasha currently operates a full-time medical practice in Cambridge, England, where she treats children and adults with autism, learning disabilities, neurological disorders, psychiatric disorders, immune disorders, and digestive problems.

In an interview with Razi Berry, host of theNatural Cancer Prevention Summit, Dr. Natasha explores:

  • How the immune system operates and how to support it
  • The role the immune system has on preventing cancer
  • How and when it is appropriate to detox and/or nourish our cells

Join Razi Berry and Dr. Natasha Campbell-McBride, author of Gut and Psychology Syndrome, opening day of theNatural Cancer Prevention Summit, May 16, 2016.
