When a Patient Writes a Book about your Work, Together

It is a rare and special thing when the work you do with a patient, moves them to write a book.  It honors the process, gives voice to real solutions that don’t always get conventional recognition, and most importantly, it speaks hope and a way forward for people struggling in ways that feel impossible at times.

Going all-in on Restoring Health

Dan Pecaut tells a no-nonsense story of his journey from conservative skeptic, through the Mayo Clinic, all the way to going all-in on restoring his health, as a way of resolving an illness that was otherwise diagnosed as “hopeless.” go source example of lab report for chemistry source link essay 120 words click here click here cover letter for a company source url here buy viagra by phone imperial college thesis template types of essays in high school viagra price comparsions what is a proposal essay argumentative essay online education why didn't viagra work for me resume physicist jobs example of a good research title can anybody do my essay how to write effective thesis free resume template and download follow cost comparison levitra cialis viagra thesis format statement of the problem Why did it work?  Because we addressed the underlying causes related to why his body was expressing this disease, instead of chasing its symptoms.

Bronchiectasis: an Inflammatory Infectious Storm for the Immune System

Bronchiectasis is the perfect storm of the worst of both worlds for the immune system.  You see, it has an inflammatory component, which conventional doctors, naturally want to manage with a steroid, but the steroid suppresses the immune system’s ability to fight infection.  Bronchiectasis, unfortunately, also has an infectious component.  Conventional doctors like to treat this aspect with an antibiotic… which we all know, works well for most infections in the moment, but compromises our ability to fight infection in the long run, especially if they are used often, or in an ongoing manner.

Breaking Away from the Norm…

Conventional doctors tend to prescribe steroids in some form, and then antibiotics for 6 months at a time and then take a break, and then get back to it… for up to 3 times.  But then what?  They make no promises about the future.  Ask someone that has been down that road… the future, tends to be more of the same.

There is another way to work with the immune system.

Everything I do, I do it for the Digestive System

Total Digestive Repair is a foundational start.  Most doctors practicing some form of natural healthcare know something about the digestive system.  So they do something for the digestive system.  I do EVERYthing for the digestive system!!!  Because the immune system truly lives in the digestive system and helping it a little bit, doesn’t get the job done.  Nothing less than Comprehensive Total Digestive Repair, in my experience, is how some of the most challenged patients resolve their illnesses and get on with their lives.

That’s what Dan did.

Before working with Dan I had helped many patients with immune, infectious, inflammatory and autoimmune challenges in their lungs.  Since his book, so many more.

While the various diagnosis differ with each organ system effected, the underlying health challenges driving the opportunity for immune, autoimmune, infectious and inflammatory diseases to occur and persist, all have important core issues in common.  Restoring health and resolving illness in the face of these core issues has been my passion, since I began practice.  Since that time, I have helped people with some of the most “impossible” cases become whole again.  It never gets old.

I am a results-obsessed Naturopathic Doctor.  I love what I do.  Throughout my career I have also worked on the “raw-materials” side of the nutritional supplement industry.  This gives me and my patients the advantage of knowing what works and more importantly, what doesn’t.  Our work is targeted, specific and dramatically effective for Metabolism, Hormones, Bones, Digestion and Heart.  How fun is that?  I have a doctorate in Naturopathic Medicine from Bastyr University, am licensed as a primary care physician in the state of WA, am an author (Better Breast Health for Life!), speaker, frequent guest on PBS health programming and am always in volunteer service to the state, national and educational institutions of Naturopathic Medicine.  You can find me at
